American businessman Drew Horn, who is collaborating with Inuit Development Company director Svend Hardenberg on establishing a data center, a hydroelectric power plant and a submarine cable in Kangerlussuaq, is currently at the raw materials conference in Toronto, where a large delegation from Greenland is also participating.
But even though Drew Horn is involved in several projects in Greenland, he did not attend the PDAC conference's Greenland Day.

The American businessman Drew Horn, who is very involved in Greenland, walked past the room where Greenland Day was held. Sermitsiaq caught up with him shortly afterwards and asked why he did not participate. – Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity, was the answer.Foto: Trine Juncher Jørgensen
Did not have the opportunity to participate
Sermitsiaq randomly caught Drew Horn on the escalator near where the delegation from Greenland, including two members of the Government of Greenland, was giving a presentation to potential investors and interested mineral companies at the mineral fair.
– Unfortunately, I do not have the opportunity to participate in Greenland Day. I am only here for a few selected meetings, but I hope to return to Greenland in the near future. I flew here to the PDAC conference with my friend. And I have not set up any formal meetings with members of the Greenlandic government. But I speak regularly with the Danish ambassador in Washington, Jesper Møller Sørensen, on the phone. And I am in Washington about once a month, and then we go through some things from a business perspective, of course, with Greenlandic and Danish partners, and try to get away from some of the crazy stories that are circulating, said Drew Horn.

There was a full house for this year's Greenland Day at PDAC, where potential investors and interested mineral companies can hear more about Greenland. Two members of the Government of Greenland participated with presentations. Several experts and mineral companies with experience working in Greenland did the same.
In addition to being the director of GreenMet, which works to create connections between Greenlandic projects and American investors, Drew Horn is also part of the management of the American company Amforge, which is working to establish a data center, submarine cable and hydroelectric power plant in Kangerlussuaq.
In addition, Drew Horn has stated several times that he works as a financial advisor for a number of mineral companies in Greenland, including Tanbreez and Critical Metals Corporation, which is also evident from a recent feature in the American media Business Insider.
Working for mineral companies
Tanbreez's director Greg Barnes has, however, told Sermitsiaq that there has never been any collaboration between Tanbreez and Drew Horn, but that Drew Horn worked for a short period for Critical Metals Corporation, which is in the process of taking over the majority of shares in Tanbreez. However, there was an agreement where Drew Horn would only receive payment if he was successful in obtaining financing, which did not happen. This is confirmed by Tony Sage, director of Critical Metals Corporation, who is also present at the PDAC conference. – The contract with Drew Horn was a "success-fee only", which means that you only get paid if you succeed. The task was to obtain financing from the US government. That did not happen, and we terminated the contract six months ago. So we do not have any collaboration with Drew Horn today.
Working for two new companies
In front of Sermitsiaq, Drew Horn says that the collaboration with Tanbreez and Critical Metals Corporation lasted from February to October last year, but that he otherwise has contracts for everything he does.
– We have done some consulting work for Critical Metals Corp, but it was completed in October 2025. I can show you contracts for all my work and can document everything.
In addition, he says that he is currently working for two new mineral companies in Greenland, but that he cannot say who they are.
Institutional partners for data center
When asked how the plans to establish a data center in Kangerlussuaq are going, and how it will be financed, Drew Horn says: – We have institutional partners in place. But it is Svend Hardenberg you should talk to about this. I can say that we will make some announcements soon, but since we have important partners in the project, I cannot say more at this time.
Connections to the White House
In the Business Insider feature, Drew Horn is seen sitting in his office in Washington during a phone conversation with an unnamed person who excitedly says: "I expect you to come in and talk to the president at some point soon."
When asked whether he works for the US government, the answer is:
- I do not work for the US government, but I have many friends in the US administration and have relations in the White House, as I have previously worked there. But today I am a proud private businessman, says Drew Horn, who previously worked in the US Department of Energy and the US Department of Defense until he established the company GreenMet in 2021.
Sermitsiaq is trying to get a comment from Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen regarding Drew Horn's statement that he regularly speaks on the phone with the ambassador.
